Glasses don't work. Please help to setup
-
Hello. I start using Tilt Five Unity SDK and had some problems with glasses connection. I tried to launch SDK examples (as described in https://forums.tiltfive.com/topic/14/getting-started-with-the-tilt-five-unity-sdk) on ubuntu 18.4.5 LTS (https://releases.ubuntu.com/18.04.5/) and 20.04.1 LTS (https://releases.ubuntu.com/focal/) on desktop and notebook in LiveCD mode and fully installed. In all cases glasses and wand controller didn't work - works only fan in glasses. Before using glasses and starting demos, I set up tiltfive-udev_1.0_all.deb as described in readme. Then connected cable to glasses and to the computer usb (tried use usb3.0 and 2.0) and launched demo app. App works fine on the computer, but no reaction on glasses (camera don't move and I can't see anything on board - only on monitor). If start app without cable or turn off cable after app launch - it crashes. So app detects glasses, but the camera don't work. May be need to do something else to turn it on? As for wand controller - I only saw a red light on it (a few seconds), after pressing a small button at the middle. No other reactions on buttons or moving. Can you please help me to setup glasses?

Yes, glasses works fine.

Hi Alexander,
Wand support isn't baked into the SDK just yet, so that's to be expected.
I'm glad you were able to figure out the USB connector issue though. I see that you tried USB 2.0 as well, and I feel I should also point out that the glasses will only work with USB 3.0.Just to be sure, the glasses are now working as expected?

I found what's the problem with the camera - the connector is too tight and it does not fit fully into the port. If somehow fully fix the connector in the port, then the camera starts working. But the wand controller still doesn't react in any of the demos.
