Information on Linux support?

I see the drivers are Windows only atm , but what exactly is needed to make it work under Linux. I don't have any hardware myself so I cannot just plug it in and see what it says the other end, but given it is a USB device it cannot be that complicated.
I am pretty sure I saw Jeri demonstrating it once on Linux, so I am assuming it is supported. Some official words would be nice though. So..
Getting quietly excited now as the months tick down.
