How to ensure visual quality in AR?

  • Hey there! I've been making Tilt Five games with my team and now we're trying to make the game as good looking as possible on the gear.

The problem is, for some of us, brightness and saturation are too high. It's like colors are too popped out. I guess some of it is manageable and expected due to using an AR gear, but we set it to the point of being uncomfortable to play.

For some of my team members, however, it is at a very manageable level and without disturbing the experience, where they can play for a longer time without any problems.

I'm new to the AR world, so I think someone here can help me out: How do we ensure the game's visual quality is as good as possible, while each person has different visual comforts?

Hi @Luisjunior, you may have already seen but just in case, I would check out the Tilt Five Tips and Guidelines at docs.tiltfive.com, particularly the section "Graphics Guidelines". There are a number of guidelines in there that can help to ensure a more comfortable viewing experience, notably for color and texture selection as well as contrast and antialiasing.

It sounds like you've already come across the fact that different people experience the colors and brightness differently, so there is no substitute for testing and adjusting based on feedback, but hopefully these guidelines can help to provide a better starting point.
